Seattle Dining Inks Deal with TheMan.com

Bay Area Men's Lifestyle E-zine Taps Seattle's Ultimate Online Dining Resource

Seattle, WA - January 11th, 2000:  When San Francisco's TheMan.com  prepared to expand into Seattle with their online men's lifestyle directory, they passed up developing affiliations with some of the obvious places and went directly to the source of the Seattle dining scene, SeattleDining.com.  In a two tiered agreement SeattleDining.com parent company, Mixed Media will provide 225 restaurant locations and descriptions, as well as an initial 5 detailed "getaway" overviews for traveling around the Puget Sound.

"We're excited and honored to have been tapped for these projects" said Mixed Media president, Tom Mehren, from the company's Eastlake offices in Seattle.  "It's a tribute to just how far we've come since bringing SeattleDining.com online last spring.

Over the course of a four week period in December Mixed Media mapped 225 restaurants based on category types including Seafood, Romance, Vegetarian, See And Be Seen, Coffee and Dessert, Ethnic and 20 others.

The five weekend getaways will provide thematic overviews such as Bed & Breakfast, outdoor activities and snow trips for the areas Victoria, The Olympic Peninsula, The North Cascades, Washington's Eastern Wine Country and the San Juan Islands.  Each overview provides the reader with information on accommodations, dining and local area activities.   "We drew a lot on our travel experiences from one of our other e-zines, SoundRider.com, to pull a lot of this information together" says Mehren who also publishes SoundRider.com, the only E-zine for motorcycling in the Puget Sound region.

SeattleDining.com came online in May of 1999 and has been offering restaurant features, an online reservation request service and insights into dining, both out, and at home in Seattle.  The publication is owned by parent company Mixed Media, a company that specializes in special interest regional online publications.  Mixed Media also publishes SoundsofSeattle.com and SoundRider.com, respectively aimed at the local music and motorcycle communities.  Mixed Media is a privately held entity whose beginnings go back to the 80's when Mehren began offering computer and entertainment services to a client base in California.

Mixed Media now maintains offices in the Eastlake neighborhood of Seattle.  They can be reached at 206-329-7808, by mail at 2226 Eastlake Avenue East, Suite 69, Seattle, WA 98102 or visit the Mixed Media website at http://www.mm411.com.
